Difference is, most of us can't shoot 82 or 92 on the same courses, so just enjoy the birdies of some professionals.

The PGA keeps some (or most) of the courses easy so that the corporate players that play during the Wednesday Pro-AM have a chance to keep up with the pros.

Yes more the technology then the courses. They are building longer courses with multiple tees to try and keep up with the technology. But these guys are bombing 360 yard drives. They are even hitting their 3 woods 300 plus yards. If they set the courses up with the long rough and lightening fast greens with impossible pin placements, it just become more of a joke with luck playing a big part and penalizing players for good shots. You should not roll off the fairway into 4 inches of rough. Technology in the clubs in balls and more advanced teaching methods is elevating play also with golf being more of an International game getting the best players from all over the world on tour now.

wonder why tiger can't shoot these low scores too. if the slugs are shooting 62 he should be able to at least shoot 65's even if he has lost it.

Conditions have been pretty benign too. Look at the first three rounds of the PGA. Can we agree that Whistling Straits is a pretty tough course even by tour standards? Guys were ripping it up over the first three days. These guys can destroy most courses given the right weather conditions....soft greens, no wind, etc.

PGA is running out of options. Can't keep lengthing the courses to keep up with the long hitters. Will have to put in limits on club construction or on the maximum distance the ball will travel. Baseball has done this by changing the height of the mound and by livening up or deadening the ball. Do agree that without Tiger or Phil in contention, it's not the same.

put a premium on accuracy by bringing fairways in, rough 4 inches min. and greens rolling at least 10.5 on the stimp and you dont have guys flirting with 60 every round... pga did all they could to draw better ratings...some weeks it worked, some weeks it didnt...

Golf is definitely on the decline unless Tiger turns it around and he might never. Ryder cup this weekend will be ok because Tiger playing.
