Tennis bettors, who do you guys like in the opening round. I haven't finalized anything yet, but these are my leans. I'll be parlaying the favorites to get prices above +100/$2.00:

    The Dogs:
Pavel +361 (Would be small if I play, Moya despite the final last week, not worthy of this chalk, imho)
Guccione +747 (Ljub is a choker on the big stage, CG was impressive in taking out JCF last week)
Mello +303 (Longshot again, but Muller is about as inconsistent as they come)
Youzhny +105 (more aggressive player, matches up well against Malisse)
Garcia-Lopez +505 (depending on heat conditions, roof/no roof, etc. Always worth fading the consistently unfit Dent when the situation is right and GGL is decent enough player to overcome TD's S&V game)
Behrend +720 (Feli's serve should get him past TB easily, but he is such a headcase and quite possibly has one of the worst BHs I've ever seen, so worth a small shot at these odds)
Hanescu +320 (much closer than odds indicate. The weasel is pretty decent at the GS's, but VH's big serve could cause him some probs. Basic rule of thumb with me is I fade nobody more than Coria and I usually come out ahead, so if he makes it past, I'll fade him until he bows out)

    The Faves
Monaco -160 (battle of the scrubs, I'll take JM over that waste Lisnard)
Haas -200 (Not sure of RG's fitness at this point and TH has been in terrific form coming into the AO)
Ferrer -112 (Serra great coming in, but DF at a pickem price is something I'll bite at, great match last year in rd1 against Bandy and always a consistent fighter)
Wawrinka -665 (He's playing Montanes, nuff said)
Mirnyi -308 (I'll rely on Max to win in 3 TBs, lol )
    O. Rochus -418 (too solid from the baseline for Llodra)
Djovokic -188 (one of my faves, but will he have enough stamina to make it through. Goldstein can be solid, but Nole is a class above)

The biggest dog, Guccione, is my favorite play among the dogs.

He's got a good serve and can volley pretty well. Of course, if Ljub plays up to form, he'll be hard to break, but Ivan continually chokes on the big stage and to get odds of $8.47, I gotta take a decent shot.

On a side note, if you like fading the general consensus, I think Santoro will be a huge public play over Vinny Ice, but I don't know if I can trust Spadea to beat FS and his crafty game. I must admit that the odds on that one did have me scratching my head; would've figured Santoro would have been a larger favorite than the -120ish he's at.

Dent flames out as expected. GGL +505

Pavel up 3-1 40*-0 in the 5th, so he should pull it out barring a miracle collapse.

did you catch the serna williams match this morning, she looks slow and out of shape bigtime. i can't see her winning the Aussie Open this year.

No, but that was already common knowledge coming in. Lots of people had Li taking her out. And I hate watching the ESPN2 coverage, I think it's the only time I cheer for the "stars" to get knocked out so I don't have to turn on the TV and see a Roddick, Williams sister, Sharapova replay while there is a 10-9 5th set going on in another court live.

3 of my dogs today choked big time.

                            Hanescu up 2-1 sets, +320
                            Marach up 2-0 sets, +750

and Karlovic in the process of blowing a 2-1 lead.

Not to mention, Nole got owned by Goldstein. Don't see too many high value dogs in round 2, the two that stick out straight up are Muller +165 and Baghdatis +144. I won't go into explaining as there is really no point amongst people who watch the game and players. I'm not funded at 5dimes, but I think a HC bet on Wawa over Bandy might be a good one depending if it is +6 or so (too tired to check). He plays close, as you know, his serve would be the weakest if the weasel wasn't on the tour, so you never know, plus looks like he had quite a battle with Udomchoke in round 1.

In terms of faves, kinda wish I saw Turnsunov play against Timmy, but no coverage, but at that price, he should be able to handle the usually game Robredo on this surface.

                            Whatcha looking at?

BTW, almost pulled the trigger on Adaktusson, but couldn't do it. Still, why the fuc.k is Sanguinetti -400? Granted he finished the year solid last year, but -400 for the grey haired master?

                                                Horna/PHM +123

Sanchez Lorenzo and Vliegen came thru Sanguinetti lost 4th set TB 10-8 and Kim got killed after winning first set, but that was a small play at +705.

PHM takes the 2nd set in a TB

Hope the Chela/Hewitt match isn't a marathon, lol, it'll totally throw off my sleeping hours if it does, lol.

I'm going to parlay Nalbandian/Baghdatis first at CRIS and if it wins, take the result from that and roll it over on a Blake single at Pinny where the odds where be better, since Blake is playing the late match (2am Pacific on Friday) and no need to throw him into the initial parlay.

All 3 have dangerous opponents (Nieminen in terrific form, Gremelmayr plays a pretty aggressive game, and Robredo is always solid), but taking a shot at +170ish with 3 players I feel should come through in their matches.
