MARK STEVENS: We hear a lot of players talking about courses that fit their eye from time to time. Maybe if you'd talk a little bit about this course and how it might fit your eye.
HUNTER MAHAN: Yeah. I mean it's a pretty fair golf course. I mean there's been all kinds of championships that have played well here, so I've just had good luck on the greens, able to make some putts out here. And I just like the -- every hole seems to set up well for me. I feel like I make birdie on every single hole, and it's just an exciting place to play, a lot of energy when you come out here and play. The fans are awesome. They come out on the weekend. It's a great spot on TOUR.

Hunter won here for his first TOUR event in 2007. Actually his last four finishes here are T2 the year before he won, then he won; T2 the year after and last year was T4, so he's got a great history of finishes here at Travelers Championship


I would expect padraig to wear down,these guys have to walk, and a round of golf is about 5 miles so that takes its toll on a guy

this is a course the players can tear up so the guys who are playing good should have that reflected in the score this week

he got jacked out of playing in the open so not sure how that is gonna effect him

But yeah, missing the U.S. Open was very disappointing. It would be made up for me quite a lot if I play the Open championship at St. Andrews, which is one I missed in 2000, missed in 2005. So it's kind of always been my bogey open, one I really want to play. So I'm here this week and playing next week to secure that spot, and yeah, go to St. Andrews and enjoy the experience.

Tough tourny wiz you'll get 'em next week. Add Bradley Dredge (BMW Munich tournament) and Justin Rose to the spectacular choke of Robert Garrigus a couple of weeks ago. So so tough to win a golf tournament from the leading position, Dredge had been -10 in the back 9 for the first 3 rounds, then was +4 back 9 final round. I think before the Travelers started 4th round, you could have gotten about 100,000,000-1 odds that Verplank Pavin, and Bubba Watson would be in a playoff, and Rose and Curtis not even in the top 10. Still rubbing my eyes on that one.
