I reall dont think Carl v Rich is a toss up.

Sure, The Blues have lost Fev, and everyone is worried about their forward line, but they have also shed all the backroom sh!t that comes with Fev, which will definitely make them more united.
Richmond have a few good younger kids but their key guys are some of the most unefficient players in the AFL.
Bottom line, Carlton are better right across the ground (even without Judd playing) and should win this by a few goals at least.

As for Adel V Freo. Adelaide have been smashed with injuries through pre-season and its never easy heading to Subi
round 1, but the Crows should only be missing 2 maybe 3 majors and i think that still leaves them strong enough to get over Freo.

You never know though, the AFL can be a strange place in round 1...

yeah round one is certainly a funny one. Carlton no doubt has the better team just going to be interesting to see how they go without Judd, fev and Stevens from last year, alot of experience out of the side but if they get in front early no probs but if they fall behind then anything is possible. I think freo v adel goes down to the wire just don't want a blowout!

i hope so too. i saw tigers in practice match and they were horrible, i know we shouldnt read into it but i like to c them first b4 laying money on them. blues for me -15.5. will wait tomorrow for teams announcement.

Can't take rich even though it is round 1 they are just terrible. One good thing is Carlton won't be as predictable like last year they just looked for fev everytime so maybe it might work ok without him but still it's 90 goals a year there

Really liking the under as well fellas. Can't see a high scoring game and goals will be scored mainly on the run and from stoppages no big forwards to lead out and have set shots

Gotta say I do like the over....the Fev factor will be interesting....didnt do much against the tigers in round 1 last year and yet Carlton still scored heavily, but then kicked 9 in round 15 last year and Carlton only kicked 16 goals......hmmmmm
