I'm new to golf betting, however I've been looking at lines at the greek... For the Travelers tournament and just wondering if I'm looking at this correctly.

ODDS TO WIN THE TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP:

Ok, so I look at those odds and say to myself assume I only have $60 left in my betting account...

Hunter Mahan: Bet $5 to win $60.75
David Toms: Bet $5 to win $90.75
Boo Weekley: Bet $5 to win $90.75
Paul Goydos: Bet $5 to win $102.50
Brian Gay: Bet $5 to win $152.50
Sergio Garcia: Bet $5 to win $152.50
Anthony Kim: Bet $5 to win $152.50


This is a can't lose? Am I mistaken?? Worst case Hunter Mahan wins in which case you'd only be up $5.75. but in every other situation you come out far ahead??


I must be missing something! Please let me hear your thoughts?

Yes, it's too good to be true. It's what I call a throwaway bet. Yes, several of those players will be in the hunt in Round 4. But there will be more who aren't on your list. This bet is one that makes a small tournament interesting for four days - win or lose. So you pay $60 and have some fun. If you win, awesome. If you lose, oh well. The real money to be made in betting golf is in individual match ups, both by round and for the tournament.
