May 30th LCK Plays. Korean League of Legends.

The opening night we see two best of three matchups with the first one getting underway around 4 am.

    MVP vs Jin Air:

MVP is notorious for slow starts and in a best of three format i expect them to win but not in a dominant fashion. MVP is not only notorious for bad starts at the beginning of the season but they also stretch the series out. Dont get me wrong this team is talented and should win this match. On the other side Jin Air had to play a promotion tournament to just qualify into the summer season. The past two series among these two teams went the distance and I see no reason why this will be any different.

I have this Jin Air +1.5 on the match spread.

The next match up has my FAVORITE bet of this slate and it's between KT Rolster vs Longzhu.

Longzhu seems an overhaul of their roster from the spring league to the summer league. With only two remaining players from the roster, this team will need a bit of competitive matches under themselves as a unit to get comfortable and understand each teammates strengths and weaknesses. I am sure these players have practised a lot in order to prepare of this upcoming season but unfortunately they are dealt the task of trying to knock off one of the better teams in LCK. KT Rolster will be out for revenge to compete for first overall, although a mighty task to accomplish with SKT being the best in the world. This should be one sided affair with KT Rolster dismantling Longzhu to open up their summer campaign.

Pick: KT Rolster -1.5 on the mach spread

      May 31

Week 1 continues with another two game slate tonight.
The first match up contests of newly promoted team, Ever8 Winners squaring off against Afreeca Freecs. Going deeper into the research I find this one very compelling for a few reasons. 1 - It'll be worth watching how Ever8 Winners work together through the first map on a much larger scale than they are use too. In the promotion tournament they played well only losing to Jin Air (2-0) knocking them down to the loser side of the bracket early. They then went on to the finals and defeated and regulated Kongdoo Monster 3-1. Even tho with a month off of competition this will be interesting to note if the momentum caries over similar fashion as of last nights upset with Jin Air defeating Kt Rolster in what was a pretty impressive victory. What works in Ever8 Winners favor here is the fact they are playing a team that is very inconsistent. Dont get me wrong Afreeca Freecs can hang with the best of them ONLY and ONLY IF the decide they want to play at the level they are capable of. This team plays down to their competition quite a bit and really need to get motivated more against teams like Ever8. If they come out strong right away then they should cruise to a 2-0 victory and at great odds from the bookies it would make for a solid play. In this match AF has only seen Helper before, the rest of this team will get the first look at the rest of the roster of Ever8 Winners. I think this game will be in AF's favor and and -110 (1.90) odds for them to win this series 2-0 is juicy enough for me to lay the money down on them to win 2-0 and hope to god they do not play down to their competition and lose a game in the series.

      Pick: Afreeca Freecs -1.5

Match two is a very very very very juicy show down between Samsung Galaxy vs SK Telecom
These two teams know eachother in and out. A beautiful rivalry show down to cap off night two of week 1 tonight. Finding out who may have the edge here tonight in a best of three show down I have noticed a few things coming from the bookies. Over 2.5 Maps is paying even money +100 (2.00) AND SK Telecom -1.5 is paying +125 (2.25). Which is very interesting to me because it's not about the sexy pick here it's just simply make money or break even just not to lose money. Remember that the key to investing your money is simply to gain profits and not to lose it right? Why I am ranting so much about this is because we have ourselves what i call a perfect hedge bet in this match. Clearly the bookies see this going to three games considering that for the most part each match recently is very close. Granted we have seen Samsung Galaxy defeat SK Telecom before 2-0. But this is where I find the advantage on SKT. They have played very competitive matches the past month at the Mid Season Invitation Main Event and winning the entire tournament ten days ago. While every other team in the league has been off at least a month, SKT is already in mid season form here and being that this is the opening week I strongly expect that SKT will come out guns a blazin here and take it to a team playing it's first matchup in over a month. For those that are concerned that this will go the distance then you must hedge this game if you think that will be the case. If SKT win 2-0 you will gain the profits but if this series goes the distance you will break even or you could parlay SKT moneyline with over 2.5 maps to make little gain compared to breaking even. I strongly cannot picture SKT losing this series at all. So for that here are my picks

Pick: SK Telecom - 1.5 @ solid value here

Hedge with SKT moneyline/Over 2.5 maps - if you see this going the distance.
