CLEVELAND — Even after barely defeating the winless Cleveland Browns in an ugly, sloppy, hardly watchable slugfest, the 3-5 Jets still aren't a very good team.
In all likelihood, they're not going to the playoffs. There won't be any magical end-of-season run. They'll hover around mediocrity, then watch the postseason from home for a seventh-straight year.
So, it makes sense that management would consider trading away some assets to build for the future ... such as 32-year-old receiver Brandon Marshall.
And how does arguably the team's best offensive player feel about that?
"I would be disappointed if I was traded," Marshall said by his locker. "I love it here. I want to finish what we started here with coach Todd Bowles."
