they lose to russia 5-2 in a game that was a lot closer. they beat slovakia. usa played a crazy game today. slovenia still in the tournament, everything to play for. i think they score at least once. so USA has to put up 6 to cover this. they are a good fast team but i dont see them scoring 6 on just 24 hours rest
in the game versus russia they played a horrible first period being outshot 18-4 (trailed 2-0). since then they have played solid hockey.
and the last thing that seals the deal for me is if they are trailing by a few late they will not pull the goalie because they have a nice -1 goal differential right now. if they are 1-2 with a decent goal differential they are looking at playing a team like norway or latvia in the knockout rounds. if they get blitzed maybe they have to play switzerland or czech.
