Great season last year Johnno.

Not necessarily answering your question but here are a couple futures i'm looking at, would love peoples thoughts.

Gary Ablett most goals for his team $4.00 - He topped the Suns in goals scored last year, apparently he is spending more time in the forward line, seems like an obvious play.

Adelaide to make the 8 - I like what they have done with the team, Dangerfield to break out and take it to an even greater level, the Crows were good in patches last season, they have a very easy schedule. I think they can make the 8.

^Like the ablett play but adelaide really look risky of making top 8

I too like the Ablett play, but not sold on the crows either. I had them about 13th on my ladder. My bolter of the year are port, think they are capable of making the top 4 this year. But we shall see!

Yeah I like both plays, Adelaide were hot and cold last year but they had lost Tippett to the Swans and then Walker to injury. If Walker can get back in form they should get in the 8.

That's a big call on Port Cooper, I'm not sure how they will go this season. I think they might be like North was last year, you back them they lose, you go against them you lose. I'm going to avoid Port lines for the first few rounds

Nice one to start off with! Cashed this very early, despite the hawks taking the foot off the throttle. Don't think anyone quite expecting the lions to be belted like that.

Thanks Cooper, that was too easy in the end, would have pounded that line in the regular season but I did expect the Hawks to give up some junk goals, not to be!

Tonight I like Richmond, I think they will start well and then rest players so I'm going for the first half line

Melbourne definitely look better...harder at the ball but penetrate me their foot skills were shocking especially bringing the ball out of the back line...

where do people see the pies this year? they are certainty for the 8?

I think they will definitely make finals, I predict 5 to 7th. The Pies are still a decent team with some young guys coming through that look really good. With beams, pendlebury and swan, that's a awesome midfield

Looking ahead to tomorrow. Fremantle -5.5 looks a good play. Simpson has said the team may be messy tomorrow adjusting to new style. Fremantle will be well drilled as per usual so big edge. Game under May also be a play bit are the books giving out this play. I have not seen it listed.

Yeah still no total offered for some reason, I think books got smashed last year with totals when it came to Freo. As far as the line goes I'm a bit hesitant to gamble on them during the preseason, can go either way. But would love to see a total option

Anyway basically said Freo will be too good tonight in a tight contest, look for Sandilands to dominate against the young Grundy.

I'm going to be cautious this opening round, it is usually a killer with surprising outcomes so be careful

Not a great start to the year but not worried. Over was looking great early last night but then the goals completely dried up!

I like Carlton tonight, only because it's their home game. Port have only won one out of the last nine games at Etihad. Carlton line up well against Port and will get the job done tonight

Also like the under tonight, it's round 1 and I've noticed in the first three games that teams have struggled a little with scoring. A few cobwebs need to be shaken off before a high scoring game is to be had.

Nice to pick up 3 units last night after a bad run.

I like Essendon tonight, should be a cracking match! The total is set at 200.5 at the moment which I am going to stay away from, I think it will most likely go over but I'm not confident.

Essendon are again in the spotlight this week with James Hird, I think they will want to redeem themselves this year and this is the perfect test for them. Both sides are very attacking but I think Essendon are the better side and will come away with the win
