In addition to the fact we have a wild mix on the leaderboard after the first round, the most interesting facet of the next three rounds for my money is the weather. Like a lot of the US, the UK has been enduring a bit of a hot dry spell recently. The rain they got last night apparently kept the course from playing very hard and fast. If the weather forecast is correct, it's supposed to be mostly sunny on Friday before possible wet stuff Saturday and Sunday.

Got to like 19 players within two shots, especially with so many names that most of us Yanks who primarily follow the PGA will barely recognize.

    -6 Graeme McDowell

-5 Keiichiro Fukabori, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Greg Owen, Anthony Wall, Tiger Woods

-4 Ben Crane, Ernie Els, Marcus Fraser, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Mark Hensby, S.K. Ho, Mikko Ilonen, Tom Lehman, Carl Pettersson, Brett Rumford, Adam Scott, Mike Weir

Got to like Tiger with an early tee time tomorrow to go low and post a number for the rest of the field to shoot at.

Have you guys seen that course. The entire landscape is brown. I'm actually surprised the greens are actually green.

Pretty amazing weather they're having there right now. Almost no wind during today's round with very low humidty and temps in the 80F range. Looks like that will start to change tomorrow when Tiger won't have an early tee-time after a 7-under 65 today. Could be a great 2-day, head-to-head match between him and Els.

Did you guys see Tiger's shot on the 14th hole? He made an eagle two from 205 yards out. It was amazing.
