Belmont Stakes Day

Will start with the Belmont and post the full card tomorrow morning.

In The Belmont Stakes I saw it as a 3 horse race before the scratch of IHA which sucks because now the 2 horses I was going to try and beat the favorite with are 1/3 or more of the price they were.Now the race seems to be can Dullahan run down Paynter?Before the scratch it was a pretty easy decision with IHA at 4-5,Dullahan at 5-1, and Paynter at 8-1.Just take the best value who was Paynter but Dullahan is now 9-5 and Paynter 7-2 so I guess I'm going to try the trifecta pool with paynter as the key.I liked Atigun and Street Life as long shots but don't know if Street Life can even be considered that anymore.This whole race just went to shyt with the scratch of the obviously vulnerable favorite.

No Currency Swap in the 9th?

The 9th is a really tough race.I wouldn't argue with anyone that wanted to use Currency Swap instead of Trinniberg or Il Villano but all three of them figure to be involved in a pretty hot pace so I think it sets up for someone off the pace.The knock I have on Currency Swap is that his last race he set the pace through splits so slow they could have been for a route which is why I like Hardened Wildcat out of that race who tried to close into the snails pace.

Might go with your pick of Antigun as a longshot. However, he would have to make a big forward move to take it. Dullahan now 9/5 in early betting. My Adonis is also interesting at a price.

I agree about My Adonis.After going over it again I'm a little scared of him.I'll probably change my mind about 10 times between now and post time but the one thing I am locked in on is Paynter as the key whether straight or boxed.Who knows what I'll end up doing underneath

Yeah I think so too but as always in the Belmont everyone has a question mark.With Paynter its how much he has to be used early on but I'm hoping he can rate if Unstoppable U goes balls to the wall.

Why do you like Unstoppable U. He comes up real slow on Beyers/Sheet#'s.

If you figure it is going to take a 105-110 Beyer speed to win this thing, you are only asking for a jump of 15-20 points, I know that seems like a lot, but its not crazy. I don't think its going to be a fast pace, so I think Paynter has the best shot, but if Paynter allows a slow pace and Unstoppable hasn't put up the run yet.

I do like the fact that he is lightly raced this year(2 starts), But his best beyer is an 82. According to the Thorograph Sheets even if he makes a forward move he will still get beat by 10-15 lengths. Maybe you are on to something, but I am going elsewhere.
