no way its perfect he gets 3/16 mile before the first turn to get into position no way he goes 4 wide then 3 wide is fine. post 11 is a perfect spot to watch the race unfold and blow right by them at the 1/4 pole. he couldnt of asked for a better post. im playing him on top with street life and optimizer. dullahan and union rags dont scare me at all !Comment -
Its great to have enthusiasm for a possible triple crown winner but betting anything with IHA on top is going to be underlayed.You are probably better off just betting either Street Life or Optimizer to place ,whoever you like more.Comment -
He can't be too far back. He needs to be within striking distance. So if he's squeezed out of the gate he may have to spend too much energy to get where he needs to be. I wasn't happy to see the late addition My Adonis, a speed horse, on his outside. If he's out of the gate fast, he'll cut right into IHA's path, who then may have nowhere to go if Paynter is out fast as well. Not to mention that My Adonis changes the pace and race shape.Comment -

Post position is spot on for a great run. With Bodemeister not in the race,I was concerned with a lack of early speed to pull IHA along. Paynter and Unstoppable should set the pace well. IHA I anticipate will be huge favorite. Antigun looks promising as a longshot being on the rail; AWD for the dam's sire is over 8 furlongs. I'll throw $ 2 on for the hell of it.Comment -

It was brought to my attention tonight that IHA is working with a jockey that probably isn't too familiar with the shape of the monstrous Belmont track. It is a pretty good post for his stalking style but Gutierrez is going to have to be aware of all the other horses on the inside that will try to keep him four wide on the first turn. If he can get in his regular 4th place without going four wide, I will be much more excited about his chances. The rest of this draw, including those horses to be the rabbits are all there for him to get the job done.Comment -

Guiterrez is supposed to be working with five horses Thursday or Friday to get a feel for the track.Belmont's conditions maybe interesting. Rain later today or Friday,with a 35% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday.Comment
