The TVG Handicapping Challenge will be held on Saturday, September 27 and Saturday, October 4. Each Saturday's contest will be a separate qualifying event to the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship, which will be held on January 23-24 at Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The top three finishers in the contest will earn berths to the National Handicapping Championship, including round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations.
Playing is easy! Just follow these steps:
1. Login or Register
Before you can play the TVG Handicapping Challenge, you'll need to establish a NTRA E-Club password and ID. Register now for your free NTRA E-Club Membership. You'll select an E-Club ID and password that you can use to login and make your contest selection(s).
If you are already an E-Club member, use your E-Club ID and password to login to the contest. If you've forgotten your ID or password, click the "Forgot Username/Password?" link on the contest home page and that information will be emailed to you.
IMPORTANT: Limit of one registration/entry per person. Users may enter only once per person, per valid e-mail address. All entries submitted with duplicate e-mail addresses will be voided, as will multiple entries submitted under the same name but with multiple e-mail addresses. Email address must be valid from time of entry through completion of the contest or the entry will be voided.

2. Login to the contest site and make your selections
Selection of horses follows the model of the National Handicapping Championship. You will make one horse selection per the designated races. Mythical $2 Win/Place wagers ($2 to Win and $2 to Place) will be made on the horse that you select in each race. You will not be able to designate different horses for the individual Win and Place wagers. If your horse wins, you collect on both the Win and Place wagers. If he finishes second, you collect on only the Place wager. All wagers and payouts from races are mythical and will be used as a score only.
Contest Race Schedule will be announced during the contest week.
IMPORTANT: Contest wagering closes 5 minutes prior to the official post time for each race on the contest on Saturday, September 27 and Saturday, October 4. Closing times of races WILL NOT CHANGE unless there is a major disruption in the race schedule (e.g., delays due to severe weather). It is important that you check the official post times for the races to ensure that your selections are made on time. Listings of official post times are available via a link on ntra.com or on equibase.com. REPEAT: Closing times of contest races are 5 minutes prior to the official scheduled post times of the races and WILL NOT CHANGE due to minor delays.
LATE SCRATCHES: In the event of a late scratch (i.e. at the gate), users may change selection provided selections have not yet closed for that given race. If selections have already closed, the selected horse will be replaced with the post-time favorite for that race. Selections WILL NOT RE-OPEN after closing due to a late scratch.
3. Check your score after racing is complete
You will accrue winnings in dollar form ($X.XX) as your horses compete. An unofficial leaderboard will be published as the day progresses, but will not be made official until the results have been audited. This process can take up to 48 hours to complete. Once the results have been audited and determined official, the top three finishers of the contest will be notified.
