I had a terrible spring + summer meet at Belmont and Saratoga. Taking a break for now... Might attend the Jockey Club Gold in a couple weeks...

After Saratoga, I usually cut back until October. Handicapping the horses is so draining, plus the ups and downs of losing, winning, bad rides, bad beats.

A wise person told me that playing the ponies year round can and will drain one's roll. Follow it year round, but only wager during certain times of the year.

you hit the nail right on the head ,,,racing in america is very corrupt,,,,after a quarter of mile my horse from 5-2 go to 6-5 ,,the smart money all way come in late ,,,that why im a tote handicapper ,i wait to the last second to bet on a race ,,,,i get shotout a lot,,

My betting goes down like 80% once the meadowlands harness season is over. I am just cherry picking winners now mainly at mohawk. Still waiting for treasure keeper to run but he cannot stay flat in a qualifier to save his life much less a race.

Handicapping horses is pointless 90% of the time industry is far to corrupt to "pick a winner" I play the ponies like crazy at the track 3-5 nights a week and I used to try and "capp" horses and talk to old timers to get winners and lost my ass every time until the past 11 months, I have been betting horses since I was 16 I am now 22, for those 5 years from 16-21 I lost probably 40k, this past 11 months I have tried a new strategy and it has worked brilliantly for me I bet number combinations, if you get to know each track you will notice patters as far as what numbers seem to run together, whether the inside or out side horses get better trips, if it seems the jockeys/riders there usually hold the horses to close or whoever gets the top usually goes wire to wire, by knowing each tracks tendency and a little luck, and by putting down the program I am up over 10k since last oct, before last Oct I had never had a signer in my life this year I have accumulated over 12 and its only September, PUT DOWN THE PROGRAM! PLAY SHOTS! KNOW THE TRACKS!

It is hard to find a horse to like.
