thats why i dont do it.....the double edge sword........plus i dont like using up the bank roll the funny thing about it.......early in the day ....i posted dens legacy on this site as a pick......but when i got on site.......i changed to the 7-9 in that race ...and you know who got third dens legacy.......and the super paid ........17000 ....odds scare people.....long odds........to me there are two types of favorites...one the morning line favorite that just stays the favorite......or...the better of the two a horse listed as a 8-1 and is the favorite........it just was a big downer not hitting it........its like what is next...how can you top that feeling lol......forget about it...right....

What would the calculated cost have been for an all button on the end?

I ask the above because I have a friend who plays pick 4's and he uses all buttons in uncertain races, his logic is simple, he says that when he is uncertain he plays all because he wants the unplayable longshot to win, thus delivering a larger prize.

I am not saying that you had uncertainty with any particular race in the sequence, I have no way of knowing your mindset as you structured your bet, but dependent on the field size of the races involved it may be upon conditions prudent to sometimes wheel entire races.

Of note, the friend I speak of also applies the same logic to his superfecta wagers with regards towards 2nd, 3rd and 4th finish positions, he does this most often when he likes something long on top and he has some sort of key under, again, he says that any horse in the field can be 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

His typical pick 4 might look something like (1,2 with 1,2,3 with 2 with ALL), and his super might look like (1 with 2 with ALL with ALL) he also hedges his supers sometimes with the second ticket (1 with ALL with 2 with ALL).

I have personally seen this guy hit some very large payouts, conversely I have also seen him blow his roll, as with all speculation, it is a double edged sword, it cuts in both directions.

It seems like every turf race is won by one of the top 3 turning for home at GP.It kind of sucks

When I landed on Duke Of The City I knew you would also like him.Footbridge looks like the closest thing to a lock I have seen today to get in the top 3.Probably win but there are a couple question mark horses that could get there instead.

You would make a killing.......I feel if anyone gives me a horse to play and finishes in top 3 I think that is pretty darn good..........that's a compliment. You do win a lot . You are always right there......and you should feel happy about that......I just played 20 to show on the 7 picked up 16 ,besides that .I found a to key in my p..ocket .....from yesterday.....bet it early .....a 10 double ..in the last 2 races at Meadowlandz ..the horse I posted ..in mint condition. Won paid 21.60. Got back 383. For double ....

I am still considering show bets but like to keep how much $$ I put out to a minimum.For instance it looked like a terrible day going 2 for 20 but a $2 win bet on each $40 returned $40.40 whereas a $2 w/p $80 returned $64.40 and $2 w/p/s $120 returned $96.40.Also a $2 Show bet on each lost $8 or 9 dollars.Of course it seemed like every horse I picked opened up at half their odds and went off much lower than the ML so I didn't play them all.

Straight exactas and boxed exactas are different because of the payouts.With the odds I play I will always make a profit on each hit so I box or key box where on a w/p/s you can hit the show and lose or win very little.
