do you remember how they used to run when atlantic city and garden state park were operating in nj...did they alternate dates that were separate from what monmouth and the meadowlands did..been to both at least once but forgot how they did it ??Comment -
I was a little boy. Atlantic city would run the harness track at night they would say freehold at Atlantic city it was a 5/8 mile thoroughbreds with race in the summer
They always had the United nations around 4th July , then they. Would switch to G.S. till garden state burned down. So a.c. was summer harness spring and fall
Garden state really opened April 1 1985. I remember. Villanova won the national championship beating g town. I remember it 's my b day. I think a c finally closed. 5 years ago. They would run turf only. Like 10 days. Also I Know I Watched The 6th Game Of World Series IN The SIMULCAT Room That's All They Did Then The Game Was Red SOX And METS. Thinking I wasn't going to the 7th game. I had tix. Bill Buckner helped me. Lol. Later a c. Would run at night in the 90s

wow was never aware they ran harness races there but as you said that was a long time ago.. I always kind of liked the offerings of those tracks when they ran.. big fields of cheap horses are fun to handicap.. and you were there for game 6 of the mets/bosox series and that's something you'll always remember.. mookie wilson hit the ball if I remember correctly
what made me think about it was that article about ac race course possibly opening up again because of sports betting.. maybe they would have to run an abbreviated meeting there in order for that to happenComment -

As Louisville said. I lived there. And also it's 12 miles from Atlantic city. Exit 12 on expressway .....we muse of passed many times Louisville. ..you ever talk to Charlie. Te him lifeguard Dave. Said hey......I let him park just abut on the beach when he comes down. I was never at the original garden state. Just the re open one

I would think there's a possibility that if they opened for sports wagering that there would also be simucasting..if there's simulcasting they have to at minimum run a weeks worth of racing..there's no simulcast competition at the casinos except for the borgata I believe..have a hunch it won't happen but maybe they'll surprise us..below is a good article about the history of the track ..very good read
