So looking back. The winner has 33 % of the pool. Based on a 3 to 1 horse. ...wow. I just can't compute it. .... I remember how they used to do it in Vegas. Winning price. Times half of place price. So winner pays 8. The second horse pays 10 to place
So it would be 8 x5 is 40. Exacta. But how do you get percentage of win poo l. For the winner. Look at tote board. Do the math and now. I have a 40 exacta. The horse that get third is 15 t0 1 pats 5.60 to show. ????

% = 1/odds +1

15-1...1/15+1 or 1/16 (6%) rounded off..a 15-1 has approximately 6% pool...not sure I can explain it better than the breakdown I did originally..at each stage you are dividing the remaining pool % by odds (converted to %)
and that gives you the multiplie..when you get to triples
you add the remainder after after % taken out of win and exacta...

$8 WINNER (25% pool)(75% remaining)
5-1 2nd (16% pool) 75/16 =4.7 multiplier
$8 × 4.7 =$37 EXACTA
10-1 3rd (9%) 59%/9%=6.5 multiplier
37×6.5 =$240 TRIPLE
8-1 4th (11%) 50%/11%=4.5 multiplier
$240×4.5=$1080 super

not particularly...I don't really care for the smaller tracks cause the pools are too shallow..this a perfect example (not this race..overall) that bet structuring is as important
as handicapping itself...if you have an opinion on double digit odds all the bettor
