#5498I don't remember who I had back then.
I just know Romansh ran step for step at a mile with maybe the best horse in the country in Palace Malice and the reigning breeder's cup mile champ in Goldencents but the top 2 will get all the attention going forward.Plus he was breaking way outside so was 3 wide the whole way while PM in post 1 and GC in post 4 got 1w/2w trips.
He wins any other race but that one.
Saturday's Belmont card is out and it's pretty awesome.Including Romansh running in the Suburban. Not sure if he can run as good as he did last out vs Palace Malice and Goldencents at 1 1/4 but I have to bet him at hopefully an OK price.
Then rest of the card is great too with a bunch of foreign invaders from Aiden Obrien and others.Like Toast Of New York who won the UAE Derby during Dubai's world cup night.I think he is a huge bet against if he is favored.Dance With Fate also goes in that race in his first start since the Kentucky Derby.A Obrien has Adelaide ,C Brown has Bobby's Kitten, Pletcher has Gala Award.Damn good race.Comment -

last race reminds me of 9/29 race. He came back in 20 days cut back to a sprint and missed by a half length @ 33-1.This time back in 4 weeks, 3rd off layoff and cutting back to a sprint again. Definitely capable here and with the below avg connections at a good price. Trainer 2/26 mdn clm... average win price about $140Comment -

#5503I believe with a more reserved ride he is at least in the money. He's
capable of coming from way off the pace in a sprint and see no reason
why the jock had to hustle him early. Then again that's part of the reason
he was 29-1..Gonna put in my stableComment -

#5509Saturday
Belmont
Race 1
3-Striking Style 10-1 ran by far her best race on the inner turf at Belmont last fall. That race wins this but have to make sure they don't move this to the widener course with the rain they are supposed to get.Matz hasn't been as good in NY this year as he is elsewhere or this would be a big play.
Race 2
7-Green Gratto 8-1 has really REALLY bad connections in his corner but if this was a Pletcher,Jacobson, or just about any average trainer/jock this horse would be 6-5 fave. This is the fastest horse and not off just one race in fact his last 5 races are all capable of winning here. The rest of the field is all tightly packed in ability minus Quick Indian but if there is one stance I am taking it is beating the Jacobson entry.
Race 3
Not sure about this race yet. Some fast ones are taking big jumps in class and the favorite is legit but hung furthest outside.Just on figures 7-Lead Singer looks very appealing at 8-1 but hard to tell if he can replicate his last race in a N2L to this tougher allowance race.2-Partly Mocha 6-1 looks like the horse most likely to trip out with a cozy draw and way more early speed than last race. The biggest question mark is 4-American Progress 15-1 trying turf for the first time but is the least exposed of the whole field.Weak connections but if he likes turf can surprise these.
Race 4
Don't know how you can make money this race.Almost certainly between 1/1A and 4 at 8-5 and 6-5.I guess a small chance goes to the 3 but 6-1 seems awfully low for what feels like a stab.
Race 5
Another race that is between the 3 faves.3-Tom's Vision 15-1 ran a big race 1st time turf last out at 96-1 but hard to see him beating all 3 of the favorites.
Race 6
2-Central Banker 5-2 is a legit favorite.Thinking the play is to key him with some prices trying to beat the 2nd,3rd,and 4th choices. At the prices and with the pace scenario 4-Moonlight Song 12-1 is the obvious play but have doubts you will get anything close to that ML.Baker can have them ready to fire off the bench. If he gets bet too hard then 6-Mezzano 15-1 becomes an option.Always hard to decipher strong wide finishes off the pace at Parx because many times that is the preferred line.Ignoring that he is 3rd off a layoff with progressing figures.5-Dad's Caps 10-1 and 8-Big Screen 20-1 are the others.
Ex Key Bx 2/4,5,6,8
If you're feeling really lucky toss the fave and box 4,5,6,8 .If you hit you won't need to win anything else all day and still be up.
Race 7
A lot of options here but one thing I am certain of is playing against Toast Of New York as the favorite. He won a weak UAE Derby where the best 3 year old at the carnival was a filly and not in the race.It may get a lot tougher trying to beat the other Euros.Mostly 4-Adelaide 7-2, when A O'Brien ships to the US he almost always is live.Which makes his other horse in the filly division of this race very interesting despite poorish figs. This one isn't lacking # power and almost won a group 2 last race even after he dwelt at the start.Looking for prices leads me to 6-Dance With Fate 10-1 .Is bred to be a synth horse but has progressed every race regardless of surface. The other price is 8-Pornichet 10-1 , don't know much about current trainer but just switched to her from Cristophe Clement's brother Nicholas.Who trains in France and often the brothers evaluate together which Euro horses would fare well in the US on firm ground with lasix. Also looks like he has some early speed and Clement probably advised that Jose Ortiz is one of the best hustling pilots on the earth.Very tough race as I didn't even touch on Bobby's Kitten, Gala Award, or Global View.
Maybe just box the three 4,6,8
Race 8
I have been bullish on Romansh 3-1 since his run in the Met but a little surprised he is the ML fave. This is a tough field and now find myself trying to poke holes in him since he is favored. He hasn't been consistent at all.Sometimes running a grade 1 type winning race and other times spitting the bit.I guess I'm sticking with him but hoping he drifts up some.
Probably have to bet him to win and as a possible single in the Pick 4 plus a Central Banker/ALL/Romansh Pick 3 could pay well if Adelaide doesn't fire.
Race 9
Casse isn't the best at Belmont or 2nd off bench but 3-My Conquestadory 12-1 getting a big switch in jock to Castellano and not without ability.Broke her maiden on turf in her very first start in the Grade 2 Summer Stakes.Seems primed for a forward move. 7-Xcellence 5-2 is the one to beat and as I wrote earlier A O'Brien is always live and he has a price horse in 8-Wonderfully 12-1.Won't be shocked if they run 1-2 around the track as they both like to get involved early on. 1-Goldy Espony 10-1 ,C Brown is close to automatic with first time North America runners he gets from overseas.Form was progressing steadily before being eased last race so it looks worse than it was. Also find 6-Rosalind 12-1 and 9-Minorette 12-1 playable. Will try to beat Room Service.
Can just concede that the 7 is much the best and go 7/1,3,6,8,9 in Tris and Supers or like the Derby on the card.Hope for an awful trip , couldn't handle ship, or whatever but just box the bombs.
Race 10
12-Hidden Vow 7-2 would be a great bet if Raj gets him a adequate trip from furthest outside.Comment -

#5512NP...Card is good quality wise but not as great a betting card as I hoped.Could see it being a chalkfest from R4 on.
Haven't looked yet but hoping tomorrows cards are more wide open.Woodbine has a great card with the Queen's Plate plus a bunch of other quality stakes and allowances.Monmouth also has United Nations and Sal Mile.
If We Miss Artie is beatable in Queen's Plate then that race is ripe.Comment -
