Anybody have any thoughts on sequence? Here are my early leans:
GP - Race 8
#5 Romacaca - will probably look to single here. She runs well fresh and is very versatile. Seems to always get a perfect trip and should get another one.
Would also look at #4 Unbridled Humor, #6 Askbut I Won'ttell, #9 Romin Robin
SA - Race 4
#4 Compari - will look to stalk probably - numbers fit and has the class
#5 Caracortado - horse to beat but I think he'll be overbet. Last race he ran big but it was only a 4 horse field with a blazing pace in front of him.. all 3 horses just stopped. Not sure he gets such a great setup this time
#2 Ain't No Other - will probably try to steal it and I think he can.. doesn't appear like he'll be pressured too much
GP - Race 9 (Rails at 96 ft)
#3 Bad Debt - I don't pay attention to rail placement too often but when they are out this far you better take note... Will make this 1 1/8th journey a bit longer.. I think this horse will get a perfect ground saving trip right behind the speed and then have something left in the stretch.. can win races.
#5 Little Mike - Been reportedly training up storm - Beyers tower over field... He is the horse to beat but at what price? His only other race going this far he faltered in the stretch and he is coming off a layoff.. Still will use
#10 Teaks North - wonder if the long campaign didn't take something out of him .. the distance is perfect for him as I don't think he wants to run any longer..my main concern is the bad post and the ground he is already going to lose with rails out this far
Would also look at #6 Beckham Bend for a price - could sit a really good trip off the speed and if Little Mike stops could be right in thick of it
SA - Race 5 - Tough race
#5 Holladay Road - Think there will be enough pace to set up an off the pace finish from him.. he fits on paper and think he's versatile enough that Bejarano will have him there at the wire
#4 Thirtyfirststreet - shoud sit right behind #2 Bluegrass Reward and get the trip - My main concern here is a short price and bounce factor...
#3 Spud Spivens - was in over his head last time - this is a better spot.. Contention goes deep
GP - Race 10
#1 Duke of Mischief - this was the goal all along - he needed the last race and think he'll run a big one here.. His Whitney was a throwout as he tore a muscle.. fits on paper and should be a nice price
#6 Mucho Macho Man - he always seems to plod along but maybe he'll turn the corner at 4... big colt likes going 2 turns which he gets here.. I think he'll be in the thick of it
#3 Adios Charlie - he has been training very well and he will probably run big... I question how badly he wants to go this far though.. could be breathing fire the final 1/16th here
#5 Turbo Compressor - will probably be on front end - think he'll get pressure though and his last 2 big races have come with clear leads... steps up in company as well
SA - Race 6
#1 Secret Cove - this guy can win races and he should be getting a perfect trip behind the abundance of stretchout speed from inside.. Rosario doesn't hurt
#10 Bench Glory - Another bomber - I am hoping this race collapses and Unzip Me just doesn't want to go this far... This guy got a hot pace in front of him in first off layoff/first on turf but was flying down the lane late... maybe he likes turf and wants to go a bit further? worth a shot at anything close to his ML odds
#9 Halo Dolly - 3 for 4 on turf and just nipped last time - should get a good trip right behind speed as well.. been beating small fields however
#3 Antares Worlds - cuts back from further and beat horse above last out... Another who I think tries to lay just off speed then pounce...
Those are my early thoughts and horses I am looking to play in my Pick 6.. Not a big budget guy so I'll probably have a couple early singles (Romacaca, Bad Debt as of now) and look to spread a little in the final 3 races of the sequence.. Remember only a $1 minimum here.
