    Christmas Eve @ Parx
anyone going, have tips/picks? (brewers-i know you have your ear to that track! Josiecoyote ive seen your work and im all ears!)
i went last year and didnt make out too bad....thanks to the BJ tables on the way out im thinking about going with my total degen buddy (or two) and thus making it an "annual xmas eve trip to parx". no drinking, no eating. just pure unadulterated action....and maybe a seasonal cigar or two
    thanks

    O.K. Cecil , I will try .

I have no form . I am only going on the entries.

1st Race - #1 Why? I am assuming that the track was over graded so some of the track maintenance crew can have Xmas day off. Used to happen in Md. all the time. If over graded, the rail will great, especially early and S. Elliott typically rides speed horses. Have no clue if the horse has speed but what the hell.

2nd Race- If the rail was good in the 1st it should be just as good around 2 turns. Find the best inside speed and closest stalker to the fence. Maybe try that.

3rd race- #6. Why? 1st time Lasix with Ned Allard. Is he shipping in for this? He used to be very solid with that angle.

4th race- #6 Why? Trainer is a monster with babies. Also, Is the #4 a shipper? Why would Gary ship unless he meant business. Maybe an exacta.

Again, I am only going on the entry list. I have no clue as to the form on any of these.
    Best of Luck Cecil !!
Happy holiday's and may all your winners pay the extra .80 cents.

Just a heads up that on wednesday the track was strongly favoring closers on the outside, you couldn't win on the lead that day, horses were closing from well back after 49 second half mile splits. Which of course means 8 wire jobs today

This is good info. It is hard to grade a track enough to flip it from outside closers to inside speed. Typically, it would go to even after grading from where it was. The extra cushion combined with the milder temps probably have plenty to do with that. I was thinking that with the holiday's they might over grade the track so they would not have to grade it every day during racing but not having the sub freezing temps at night allows the crew to not have to work the track all night and thus, less movement of dirt towards the rail.

Thanks Brewers! Now I already have an excuse for Cecil when my picks run bad.

i just got home from manayunk (doing a roof all morning) and just realized my Penn National account is not taking bets today and my parx account has 4 bucks in it
im going with "tale of the fox"(#8) in the finale...but should i go with a $2 win/show wager? $2 to show an 8/10 exacta box?
any advice? just going with the name....no program pages or anything fancy.

*btw: thanks for the picks guys!
