I have recently started playing british horse racing , I was wondering if the season will continue through the winter or do they shut down any time soon

The seasons are ad follows


Late march to 1st weekend of November - Turf Racing
Mid-Nov to mid-March - our version of dirt racing from 4 tracks - pretty rancid - just follow the late money !
October to End of April - the best steeplechasing you will ever see - it is great to watch - just follow Paul Nicholls, Ruby Walsh and AP McCoy when he rides for Jonjo O'Neill and their horses are backed.

thanks very much , just the info i was looking for, I noticed the races start a little earlier now ( atleast today)

Britain has gone back 1 hour to GMT - from mid-March to mid-October - we go forward 1 hour for British Summer Time.

So until American goes back 1 hour - we are 4 hours ahead - but we will go 5 hours ahead - when America falls back

i watch many races on BetFair, it's great for the american races you don't even need to wager to watch live, racingpost.com , the site you suggested is great!!!
