muddy track today could change a lot of things

Espically for the number 3 in the 7th race
I know a girl that hates muddy tracks so if it is muddy I will be looking for the 10 and 12 to push her.

That track dries quickly. Its a shame the weather is a factor all the same.

At 8:30 a.m., weather.com said Louisville had received half an inch of rain over the previous 24 hours. That sure doesn't sound like enough to take a fast track and make it sloppy or muddy.

What is the condition of the main track? Muddy (Note: the main track was rated 'Sloppy' from 6-8 a.m. during morning training. Churchill Downs received approximately three-quarters of an inch of rain Thursday and overnight until 4 a.m. Vice President of Track Butch Lehr expects the track to be rated 'Muddy' after the renovation break at 8:30 a.m. and says the dirt surface could be rated 'Good' for the first race. "We've got time (2 p.m. first post) and some wind (11-13 m.p.h. forecasted) on our side," Lehr said. "I think we'll be alright."
What is the condition of the Matt Winn Turf Course? Yielding (Note: turf training will go on as scheduled Friday at 9:30 a.m., according to Lehr. "We're going to let the horses train on turf today because we're racing on the hedge for the next two days and they'll train in Lane 3 (22 feet out) around the dogs. Yesterday I had to cancel turf training because we ran the stakes race (the Grade III Commonwealth Turf) in Lane 3 and we had to protect the lanes. The decision to cancel yesterday was made with safety in mind."
Where is the temporary rail set on the turf course today? Lane 1, on the hedge
What maintenance was done to the main track following morning training? Lehr: "After training we're going to harrow and float the track and try to squeeze all the water out of it. Also, we'll turn on the sub air system on the turf course until 2 p.m. to help it dry out a little bit. We've got a lot time on our hands and some wind so I think we'll be in good shape by post time."
