I've created a datebase. Now what?
I'm about halfway through the compilation of the results from 1,000 Thoroughbred races.

Now the question that consumes me is, What do I do with this when it's finished? (I guess I should have had that answer before I started, but that's beside the point now.)

I started with the idea that it might help with money management. Instead of investing $50 on a Pick 3, for instance, I wanted to know if I could somehow narrow the likely list of contenders and spend less in the process.

In looking at the results that I have so far, there are some things that pop out. One of them is, it rarely pays to hit the "all" button. I've noticed that the longest shot in the field only creeps into any payoffs (finishing at least in fourth place, thereby getting involved in the superfecta), on average about once every 30 races.

But, to get back to my original question, for those who have ever dabbled in a horse racing database of any kind, has it shown to be useful and, if so, what kind of things would you suggest I be looking for? Thanks.
