    Wednesday's Albany at Saratoga
going with a longshot and hoping the turf gets firmer

SAR Race 7 The Albany (4:21 ET)

    #2 Bound by Humor 12/1

    #9 Sailmate 7/2

    #6 Socialsaul 2/1

    #7 Preachintothedevil 3/1

    Analysis: #2 Bound by Humor
is coming off a game win versus state bred Alw-1 foes last out after finishing behind a couple of these two back when fourth in the state bred Mike Lee. The colt appears to be on the improve as he tries two turns for the first time here fort the Albertrani barn that is 10% winners (with a +ROI) moving runners from sprint to route. This guy has enough pedigree to handle the extra ground. He is by Sharp Humor out of a Louie Quartorze mare. The colt figures to be out in front early and speed has held up well at this distance at the meeting. Worth a good look if we catch most of his 12/1 ML.

    #9 Sailmate
made a good late rally to beat state bred Alw-1 foes last out in his first go against winners, earning a solid figure. Kimmel backed off him after that race and he comes back here off a 2 1/2 month break. The colt sports quick works on the morning tab and still appears to have plenty of upside potential. He looks capable of handling the extra furlong here.

    Wagering

WIN: #2 to win at 6/1 or better.
    EX: 2,9 / 2,6,7,9
    TRI: 2,9 / 2,6,7,9 / 2,4,6,7,9

46.2 and 111.1 = no shot to go gate to wire.

            Right idea, wrong bomber.

I used to play that trainer/jockey a lot last year when Lezcano was an apprentice, but preferred him on turf. Trainer was winless at the meet and having a terrible year.
