Saratoga Contest 8/10/11 thru 9/5/11

This contest is for the rest of Saratoga's meet starting August 10th until closing day on September 5th.Entry is 25 points and will remain open until this Saturday August 13th.You will be sent an invite to join the contest that you can access through the MY CONTESTS link on the top right.You have to join the contest before your picks will be counted.

Players must pick every race everyday they run, failure to do so will result in -$20 for the day up until the last week of the meet where it will be -$40 a day.This is to prevent someone from sitting on a lead and not putting in picks.

Scoring will be a simple $2 Win/Place/Show bet with one race per card being a best bet that will be $4 w/p/s.

As for entries(1/1A,2/2B,etc...) there is no splitting ,if you take an entry and the half you liked got scratched you still get the other half.

Picks must be posted prior to the first post of that day.Any posts that are edited after first post will result in all the days races counted as losses.

Post your pick and as many alternates as you feel the need.If all selections scratch you will be given the post time favorite.

No money involved just points.It costs 25 points to enter ,you have to join the contest through the invite I send you if you want to play and the 25 points will be taken out of your balance.

Any reason we are doing across the board? I always liked the W/P or even just bet for the win. You have to be getting really high odds for a long shot to hit a show and it even pay for the W/P bets... and if its a fav. forget about it.

You get both halves of the entry no matter what.There will be days where I can't keep score immediately and don't want confusion.An example is someone picks 1A but both halves run and the 1 wins or someone picks the 1 but the 1A wins.I see it causing problems and think the effect of not being able to split over a month long contest will be minimal.

Yeah I was trying to think of some way to make it possible to skip a few days if you need to but then someone could take advantage of that later in the contest.If someone has an idea let me know.I was thinking like a 3 day mulligan where you can miss 3 days without losing any money but it would expire before the last 7 days of the meet.

You can put your picks in a few days ahead of time if you want.I made it across the board to balance it for people that play shorter odds and people that play longshots to hit the board.

Yeah ...np yw..there will be some days where I'm not around and I will grade at night.Instead of live scoring it will be day by day scoring.
