    Handle Question
    Yesterday I say a super hit for over 100,000 but the total poop for the super was around 25000, does the track pay the difference??

    Its impossible.It can only pay up to the amount of the pool if there is only 1 winning ticket.

      Tracks like to list the $1 payout for superfectas even if they are only one or two 10 cent tickets sold on the winning combination and there isn't enough money in the pool to support the $1 payoff. It's good for advertising.

        No. The payout is generally based on the designated unit payout. What usually happens is that let's say there where "5" .10 cent supers that hit but the bet is based on a two dollar bet. So it shows the full payout number and the math is applied for a fraction of that payout to each fractional ticket.
        Probably, no one had a full ticket . Just fractions of a full ticket.
        Had there only been only one full ticket that won and no fractional winners , the payoff would have reflected a lower payout.
