Electronic PP Advice

General question out to everyone...has anyone started using a PC Tablet at the track? I currently will bring 3 different track PP's to the track printed and we all know how cumbersome that gets. Just looking to see if anyone has given it a shot. To me the iPad doesn't seem logical.

I have not been on track in awhile but if I did go, I would bring my laptop with me. This way I would not have to waste time and paper printing out the past performances. Plus I would use laptop to watch replays of past races.

If I had a tablet and was capable of reading the small font of the past performances, I would definitely consider using that instead. Much easier to carry with you so it does not get stolen.

if you can manage to pay for the gas to go to the track buy the printed edition of the drf...since it takes longer to read through a race with it you will bet less races ( a good thing). actually what you should do is pick out 10 races from different tracks and create your own card..why bet a race a track just because it's the next race there...if you like turf for example siphon out 10 turf races divide your bankroll by 10 and flail away...if you hit one apportion some extra money into the remaining ones...

Back in the days when I would go to the track I would bring a laptop. If I were going to the track now I would bring a tablet.

I think its best to get all the work done before you go to the track and list who you like in order 1 thru 4 or 5.

I use my tablet all the time. I have a galaxy zoom and works great. To be honest their is nothing like writing on a drf and doing it ole school. I just love the nostalgia of it all. Somethings electronic devices don't give you.

Don't have a tablet, but I've frequently used my Itouch instead of killing my ink supply on a day I expected to play quite a few different tracks. I love writing on the form, but I get the forms from Bris free when betting on tracks through Twinspires so I figure I might as well use them. Seen plenty of people using computers at the track as well.

Twinspires TV does not work on the IPAD, i really wish it did. I have not tried xpressbet, but I am pretty sure thats flash as well.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice. The formulator on DRF has slowly been taking over for me even though I still print it out a lot. I agree the one downfall is the lack of markups on the print version. I do get most of my work done before I go, i just like refreshing my memory if there is a change in the east or post parade.
