He was offered first call for a major stable in Chicago. Along with the fact he'd been in a slump in California after returning from an injury the move seem good at the time.

Makes you think ........... Kentucky Derby have anything to do with his death ????

Michael Baze rode Nehro to a WIN on Feb. 21, 2011 at Oaklawn.

Then loses that ride to Cory Nakatani in the Arkansas Derby and the Kentucky Derby.

I'm thinking that Michael mustve been living with alot of pressure being in the Baze family. He may have felt embarrassed and ashamed that he lost his mount in the Kentucky Derby.

It's too bad if really felt that way. Look at his uncle Russell Baze, the winningest jockey ever, how many Kentucky Derby mounts does he hv? He was so young and will hv plenty of opportunities. Sad.

I doubt this. I think his passing may be related to weight reduction issues. But that's just one possibility. Very sad news
