Biggest Racing Hits and Almost Hits
For me, hit a pick 3 at Tampa in 2004 for over 5k. I was only pool winner and the horse paid like $40, $12, and $8. I also had a pick 4 ticket from the same sequence that paid $600 for 3 out of 4. I ripped it up actually when I lost, but retrieved it.

I hit a pick 4 at Santa Anita a few years ago for 9k.

The one that will sting is this past year at Delmar the pick 6 went off at about 4 mil. I played offshore, which enabled me to do $1 bets. I had this thing mapped out with my picks. I don't cap but bought the drf, this other book, wrote down the tvg picks. Somehow I didn't see this small paper where i marked down frickin Mr B's pick 6 bet and the #7 horse being his top pick in the last race. Of course I was 5/5 going in the last race and the #7 wins. I had ample funds and would have added this frickin horse in. If i recall, I would have received 17k for my $1.

My worst beat I had on a PK-3. The first two winners paid 38 and 26 dollars I was alive on to a single in the last leg who was 15-1 morning line. I had to talked to the trainer and he said he couldnt get beat. Horse opens up 3-5 , he was a previous open champ racing for peanuts. Around the last turn he opens up I swear close to 18 lengths on the field I have the only ticket in a pool of 15k.

The horse hits an absolute wall 200 ft from the wire but he had such a huge lead i thought he could walk across and still win . Nope he got caught under the shadow of the wire and crap.

I have had several hits that have paid in tens of thousands. My best hit was on Rocknroll Hanover. Was given some info on him that he was ready for a big stakes race by beating a world champion training down that week. Bet 800/800 on him , horse went to the front and never looked back and paid $63 to win.

worst was having a super play down on paper not playing it and would have had the enitre pool. and this past weekend tampa r9 had the playwrote down on paper did not play it( could not get through line at OTB) would have cost ony $12 for the $1 ex and would have paid over 1k. the only ticket that counts is the one you cash. Have hit several big and huge payouts.

A week ago today I would have hit the late pick four at Santa Anita had Maldonado given a good ride in the 3rd leg. Instead, on a speed horse, he gave the easy lead to Rosario, and Maldonado lost by a head. Cost me 2-3k on a $8 ticket.

We always remember the tough beats better than the big scores.

My best was in 2007 I played a .30 super at Remington and hit an 8/1 over 50/1 over 40/1 over 12/1 and it paid $1680 for a dime.. that was a nice few minutes. Not a totally CLOSE miss, but in the 2006 breeders cup, I spent $16 and was 4 for 4 in the first 4 races of the pick 6.. I had 3 horses in the 5th leg and singled fusaichi pegasus in the classic.. Needless to say I ended 4 of 6..

i can remember two great days that stand out
1st was in 1976, i hit the pick 6 at santa anita and 2nd in 2009 i hit 9 for 9 races at saratoga including both pick 4's that day that was a very good and exciting day only thing i didnt play there was the pick 6 or would have nailed it to0
in my pick 3's and pick 4's i only had like $6 or $8 in each bet.A real solid day

i hit the place pick-all at los alamitos about a month ago for $2,700.the only tix as the total pool was about $3,200.i also won a place pick-all at bay meadows 3 years ago for $3,700,again,the only ticket.today, idon't even have gas money to go to the track and just hang around.somethings wrong with this scenario, but, i should be used to it by now.
                      good luck to all

a few years ago i hit the cal expo pick 4 but was playing at Pinnacle (before they banned US players).. The max for cal was 5k.. the pick 4 paid $15k.. I was happy then disappointed i was capped at 5k (my idiot choice to not pay attention to the max payout).. but then a friend brought me to reality saying if I played on track, there would have been 2 winning tix, not one, so we would have each gotten 7500 minus 28%... so i was whining for nothing

Last year's Breeders Cup...can't remember which one it was, but I remember keying Wilcox Inn (22-1) in the top 2 spots of superfectas. Went 8 deep in an 11 horse field for the 4th spot, and lose a 3 horse photo for that spot. Super paid $14k.

Worst: Played a $2 double super which means you have to hit exactly the super on one race and if you do you get one chance at the super on another race. I hit the first race and got the first 3 right in the 2nd race but my 4th place horse ended up breaking and getting 5th. The horse that got 4th was 60/1 but had gotten 4th like 4-5 races in a row. I had a 50/50 shot and blew it. I did get 5k as it was an all goes that night pot but I was one spot away from 100k.

Best: Hard to say but I did hit a 7k tri at northfield with a 70/1 on top. I had to endure a photo finish and then an inquiry but it stood. The horse looked decent so I have no clue why it went off at such high odds. I have hit a few dime supers over 2k and a few pic3s over 5k.
