    Hollywood Park Cancelled
Now I thought Cushion tracks, Pro ride tracks, Poly tracks were tracks you can ride any time. Always fast and safe. The California tracks with all the money spent to stop weather related cancellations has really blown it
Why are they not racing. On a DIRT track they would Be racing!

Excuse me ... Weather is horrible in Calif ... Heavy rains up to 7 inches in the mountain region and 4 inches in the flat lands. Lot of mud slides thru out Calif. Trouble traveling the roadways. They also have cancelled Los Alamitos card for Sunday night.

Hollywood Park cancels final seven races of closing card - 12/19/2010.

Hollywood Park officials were forced to cancel the final seven races Sunday after consecutive days of consistent, heavy rain.

Concerns with the transition area from the chute to the main track was the reason for the premature conclusion to the card, which was the final one of the autumn meet.

"Concern for the safety of the jockeys is something that is always of paramount importance," Hollywood Park President Jack Liebau said. "There was a suggestion by the jockeys to shorten all remaining races to six furlongs, and some thought was given to doing that, but that would not have been fair to the wagering public across the nation who may not be made aware of those changes."

This is hilarious considering they took the full takeout from the early pick 4 and paid 2/1/all/all so most everyone lost money on a winning bet. What a joke the CHRB is.

gremlim mudslides not a factor in hollywoods poly failure, plenty of rain in no cali also yet golden gates tapeta surface is always fine, listen to sundays call of the 3rd @gg if possible

Heavy rain in Southern California over the past two days forced Hollywood Park to cancel racing Dec. 19 prior to the third race, bringing the final day of the 2010 Autumn meet to an abbreviated end. Track president Jack Liebau met with jockeys briefly before the track announcer Vic Stouffer made the cancellation announcement. Several jockeys, including Mike Smith, inspected portions of Hollywood's Cushion Track after the second race. The track reported that there was a concern with a saturated area where the six-furlong chute and main track meet and that was the main cause of the cancellation.
