    War Pass
I got $3000 on him at 10 to 1 to win the Kentucky Derby.

Its way to early to take 10 to 1 on anything in a future. War Pass won on a sloppy speed favoring track on Breeder"s cup day that masted his ability to run a distance of ground, which he is not breed to do. Assuming he makes it to the gate on the first Saturday in May he will be at least 6 or 7 to 1 in a full field and most likely greater than that.
Pyro ran his last quarter in 22 and change Saturday while winning in at the Fair Grounds. He figures to improve and will love the longer distances.
Futures have some value at 50 to 1 and above. Anything less than that is silly. Many on that list won't even run in the derby due to injury.
G.L. with the bet, however I would be shocked if it wins.

War Pass looked good today. It was a nice and easy way to begin his 3 year old racing season. He needs to prove to me he can handle pace pressure and keep going. Also I 'd like to see if he can rate behind horse without getting rank. His next start will say more. The field he beat today was a bunch of slugs.
        I still prefer Pyro.

but yet he had better fractions thanthe fountain of youth race that was run 10 minuted before and better fractions than pyro in the risen star. All this while being held back the whole time during this race and even when he was held back he had better fractions and was pulling away.

Zito is a throwback to bringing up a horse slow like the old days. But with owners wanting results now trainers have to adjust to stay employed. However, I dont think thats the case with War Pass. This horse hasnt done a thing in 4 months before he raced last weekend. Zito put him in a nothing race with horses u can find at any place they got horses. He had to add a horse just so there could be this allowance race. Then they hold him back the entire race and he still starts pulling away at the end. They have tried to bring this horse up slow but the horse likes to race, lead the race and win the race. I believe he hasnt peaked yet.

War Pass hasn't peaked yet as far as his three year old season. Zito's handling of him is fine, The racing office handed him a gift when they carded his last race.
My issue is the distance of the derby.War Pass appears to me a very good miler. At this stage I can't see him handling pace pressure and staying the mile and a quarter distance of the derby. Bold Forbes did it,so did Seattle Slew but the list of frontrunning favorites that faded in the Churchhill Downs long stretch is quite long.
Dodif do you know any indians? If so have them do a rain dance for you! War Pass likes an off track and that could be an ace in the hole.

Anyone excited to see Atoned run? He may be a late bloomer, but I hope he puts on a good run.

Not bad at 10 to 1 at all but not sure he'll win he won't get the comfortable lead he likes in the Derby field.

                                Anyone like Pyro?
