yesterday(8-15) my buddy hit a 1/6 exacta box for $2 at ellis park race 6. winner paid 74.60 and the place horse paid $17. my simple pennsyltucky math told me to expect a $1300 payout on that one. it paid $658.60

Payoff 90% of time is win X Place is Exacta but I would think in this one there were a few other winners and/or the Exacta Pool was low

BTW no way to handicap a price like that which is why I am almost done playing the ponies and when/if I do it'll be a #'s game. Used 2-4 @ Pocono/Yonkers tonight in Exacta Box and broke even?

you got that right. he played 1/6 boxed up at a few tracks. we split the 1274 ex and tri boxes all day at chester...talk about relaxing
