Just curious as to how many trainer angles you guys are finding these days. Roughly, on average do you play one a week? A couple a month? More? None?

#2Depends.
Trainer intent in maidens is a great one:
Trainers who are seriously looking to break a horse's maiden, and not just give them a workout.Comment -

#3There are boatloads you can find one in just about every race.First off a claim is a big one for me but there are so many other ones also.Comment -

#4I agree Maidens and first off of a claim are good angles. On the broader subject of trainer intentions, I think it is just as important to know when not to bet a horse. For example, given American trainers penchant for racing horses into form, often times a horse is just in the race for a workout as Tiger mentioned concerning maidens. You see this also with horses returning from layoffs. Also with horses that are being given a "live" workout but are really intended for a race in the near future. More than once I've had a good horse at a good price and the race had set up nicely for him, only to see the jockey never ask him to win and finish just out of the money. Then, three weeks later blow away a field of better horses. LOL! Maybe the "good price" should have tipped me off.Comment
