    Heartbreaking Trifecta!
Can any horse expert tell me(just a guess) what my trifecta would have paid?

    I bet on 1/7/4. Horse 1 was 18/1. Horse 7 was 9/2. Horse 4 was 12/1.

The other horses in the race(if this matters) paid 48/1, 7/2, 2/1, 6/1, and 3/1.

    The final result was 7/1/4.

Horse 1 closed in to pass 4 at the stretch, but just missed on passing horse 7. OUCH! A $2 on THAT paid out $880.

I had $55 on 1/7/4. Can someone tell me about what I missed out on? $50 grand?

Ouch! Not sure what the payout would have been. Too bad you didn't box it.

That tri was in the 500 range as you played it.

Pretty sure he would have made the same amount, just would have paid more to box it.

It really depends on what track you played to gauge what the handle is. If it was a NYRA, Churchill, Hollywood, I would say $500 for $1, even more maybe. Was this an English track?

If you bet 55.00 straight on the tri and the track was a minor or small handle track, you in reality, using the 2nd longest shot on the board as the winner, bet against yourself. Impossible to say what it would have paid but sounds like you over bet into one pool instead of spreading it around. Again, not talking a major track but a minor one.
Also ,with all due respect, if you bet a 55.00 straight tri with an 18-1 shot on top and did not scatter your play, you need to learn to better manage your betting style and patterns.
GREAT PICK but must learn to not put so much pressure on an 18-1 shot .

If it was 1-7-4 my calculations come up with........

                        1= $38 to win @ those odds

7= $5 to place Give or take

4= 12 to show Maybe more with Favorite out of the money

                        so 38x5x12 = $2280 $2 dollar tri x 27.5 maybe $62,700

Check any Exacta or Triple payout you'll see

                        win x's place = Exacta

                        win x's place x's show = Triple

                        Ballpark figures

BTW boxing 9 horse would be....

                        Runner(s): 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9Total Bet: $3024.00

Boxing #7 with all would be...

                        Runner(s): 7/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9Total Bet: $336.00

No, it was at BetJamaica, not SBR points lol. Wouldn't have posted if it was.

Thanks for the figures, guys! Like one said, woulda shoulda coulda. I don't usually pick horses, this was a blind play to me. I had lost $900 and had a $55 bonus that I through on the trifecta.

I'm sure BetJamaica has a PER RACE payout cap.

yeah, a 600-1 cap. Hands down one of the silliest things I heard here. With a 600-1 cap you made the bet you say. Unreal.
