Denman is supposed to be un-biased during races but you can tell he'd be crushed if Zenyatta lost...its like Vitale calling a Duke game

Being just a fan like I will be in this race, and betting $1,100 on a heavy fave are 2 different things. At 1/9 she will likely only pay $2.20 to win and $2.10 to place(finish second). Since there's no show wagering, if you must bet, play it to place in case something bad happens(after all, Mike Smith is the jockey). Me personally, if I have $1,100, I don't need an extra $55 that badly. BOL

If you have some sort of rollover requirement and show wagering is allowed, do like Reload says. Zenyatta is as good as gold and close to a lock you can get, just won't pay anything. I'd be too worried Mike Smith might fall off or only decide to wear 1 pair of goggles and won't be able to see.

If there's an astronomical Place Pool full of money on Zenyatta, I'll take a small bet on every other horse to place.
If by some chance Zenyatta runs out, the place payoffs will be huge. Maybe even triple digits, depending on the amount in the pool.

Classic bet against the bridgejumpers. Nothing to lose except a few bucks if Zenyatta finishes 1st or 2nd. If the unthinkable happens, though, it'll be a nice little score for very short money.

That's a good strategy! You'd automatically win one of the place bets no matter what. I did a similar strategy on Rachel's return, I bet $5 to show on the other 4 horses. I love Zenyatta, so I hope nothing unthinkable would happen here.

$2 Exacta paid $18 so that was a nice score considering a 1/9 on top.

16 consecutive wins second only behind a horse named Pepper's Pride with 19 cons wins in American Racing according to TVG. Zenyatta, Citation, Cigar, Hallowed Dreams, and Mister Frisky all knotted at 16 cons wins. Buckpasser and Colin had 15 cons with Man O' War having 14 cons wins.

The scary thing about Zenyatta is she might even be better on dirt. I remember when Cigar was going for #17 at Del Mar and lost, that day sucked...Zenyatta will get it easily though.
