#2All that shows you is where the money is .... if you bet every single favorite - you'd be very poor - very quickly.

#8The issue I have with this method is two fold. First you have people that will bet then cancel the bet later. Plus there's the issue of a betting mistake someone bets a large amount on the wrong number or the wrong race track. Tracking mutuel pools is a valid handicapping tool but only one piece of a larger puzzle. The general rule of thumb is the track the early $ and late $.Comment -

#9It sounds like what you are touching on is trying track the tote board, analyzing when and where the money is coming in, as a handicapping tool. From my understanding what the ultimateselector does is identify value from the tote board. He isn't trying to identify the best horse in the race, rather the best value, or the horse which is being under-bet relative to it's perceived odds of winning/placing etc..Originally posted by thezbarThe issue I have with this method is two fold. #10Hello Fellas!
Yup I'm still lurkin around a bit.
If there is anything I can do to help please feel free to ask me anything specific & I will do my best to answer them for you!
I only use my program that I developed that receives "Live" Odds & Pool feeds directly into my program.
I then run that money thru about 60 different calculations to arrive at my selection(s).
I never look at a form or anything else. I only know the horse by it's number & that's it. It's how I handicap.
I just Handicap the handicappers!!!
Best of Luck & See ya in the Winners Circle!
Regards,
U.S.

#13Using just the tote board would be useful in claiming races viewing the odds at 16 MTP, 15 MTP, and 14 MTP.

#16to me handicapping the tote board is the only way to bet .it tells you whats going on today .not what happenened in the last 5 races .the trainer is the key and if he shows its a go by the odds lower today then before you ve at least have a live betComment -

#17i think it shows you some things ,not all, if i saw a horse listed at 8-1 in program and he took money in the pick 3-4 and is the favorite,i would figure ,the trainer or the ublic saw something that we didnt......it can be a good tool if put to use the right wayComment -
