    Journalism
Nysos out, can Journalism beat the older horses
I think so by the looks of it
Don't like the odds but they are there for a reason
paired him up with some longer shots that look capable
except Fierceness because he's on the rail and won't pay anything
so I went Journalism with Midnight Mammoth, Indispensible and Tarantino
other races just doing show bets at Del Mar

What did you guys think of the KD Nashville Derby
it was kind of a letdown the way it ran
best surprise was Burnham Square in his turf debut

Go Journalism at least get on the board and maybe an exacta
will add to the hype for Breeders Cup if he wins

thanks, easy. I'm done with player sports. Too much has changed. They lost me.

Journalism showed great form, but again I have to wonder how he would be with a different trainer. He was SLOW out of the gate. At first I wondered if he broke fine but the others around him prepped for a blazing start and it nailed him, well, they did but his first 40 yards was way too slow. You might get away with that shit vs. 3 year olds but not with the mature hustlers. I think he needs to be trained for stronger starts. It's not that he doesn't break well its that he breaks ok but too slow footed. I don't know if he will respond to bullets at 3f but that could be what he needs. Will MCarthy see this and make some changes or not? I don't know again but if the trainer gets lazy with him then he won't reach his full potential.

So, Fireceness also had focus problems but once he reached the oval it was ok, and his start was not as hard to overcome as J's. Pletcher and Velazquez knew exactly what they would do, and it paid off, which is why the horse was still fresh enough to hold on down the final stretch against Journalism.

If Journalism only had to work a little bit less, he would have won this race or at least gone neck-and-neck with, Fierceness. The way he exploded and passed the bulk of the field was phenomenal, but how much of this is the horse's raw power and responding to Rispoli's queues, not the trainer. In the Haskell before, it was closer than it should have been, and Rispoli had to strike him 8 times which susp. him for one day because the limit is 6.

I want to see bullet workouts for Journalism or I will have to expect him to continue with slow starts which means I won't be putting him in the top 2 for the BC.

I hit his show bets only, Both Place and Show returned the $2.10 minimum because he kept getting hammered down to 2/5.

Does anyone agree with me ?
