Very put off by fact that NYRA has just pulled Races 9 & 12 - forgive me for repeating myself but I don't get this. They run in bogs overseas all the time but they cannot do it on American soil for some reason? I will never get this as I feel it is still safer than running on a slick muddy surface. Maybe someone has stats to smarten me up?
Any dam way -- wanted to comment on fact that Sovrty is currently at 4-1 while Baeza is 7/2 and Journ. is at 6/5. This is such a no brainer to me. Give me Sovrty please! Jrnlsm the more talented imo but Sov gets same distance, good to muddy track and a month off. We all saw KD, why wouldn't you jump on him? Would not be shocked to see Jrn fade late just because TC trail is so taxing... but repeat I think Jrnlsm will turn out to be at least the equal of say a Point Given. After a break he could win his next 3 and take HoY honors.
But if the toteboard holds up, I'm all over Sovrty.
Will invest a little in a tri/sup to get some of the "others" in the mix = fading Rodrgz but respecting Bza.
Will play defensively but hoping on something like 2/6/178/178 plus a heavier than usual WIN bet on Sovereignty.
