    Saturday races
Lot of stakes races on Saturday at Gulfstream and Santa Anita, but most are pretty awful caliber of races. I think I'm looking at two races only.

    Gulfstream race 7: No. 8 Nobizlikeshowbiz/w No. 3 Sam P.

Santa Anita race 9: No. 3 Arson Squad w/ No. 6 Midnight Lute.

Horse of the Year Invasor returns in the Donn Handicap in Race 9 at Gulfstream, but I'm not touching the race.

I'm gonna take a gander on Midnight Lute in the 9th race at Santa Anita. This looks like a decent play to me. $10 across.

I think Midnight Lute is the sensible play, but with his close second last, plus Baffert/Espinoza, I figure he might be 2-1 or less. I thought the 3 horses on the lead in the last race were staggering home and this race is a little longer.

Arson Squad had no excuse last out when finishing 4th against these horses, but I'm hoping Gomez gets him into the race a little earlier from the inside PP and maybe he gets lucky in the stretch at 4 or 5-1.

Good call, SS. Midnight Lute didn't have enough to even score a SHOW.

Finally scored a small profit today with a couple of winners. No exactas. Nobizlikeshowbiz won, but was not that impressive against a very suspect field.

I thought Midnight Lute was going to get up for second for the exacta, but was empty in final furlong. Perfect ride by Garrett Gomez on Arson Squad. He hustled him out of the gate just a bit to get him closer to the leaders, and that was the difference in the stretch. Best jockey in the country right now.
