    Interesting Breeding , Entry
As always I defer to you gentlemen but this one caught my eye.

    OP R5 #3. First timer 2F ... Tom's D'etat / Uncle Mo. Calumet and Cox.

Curious why they would start this one in a 65K **??

it is a $100k mcl with an "option" not to run for a tag if you sold at auction for <= $75k ($65k is the purse) ..she happened to sell for exactly that amount so likely that's where it came from .. they chose not to put her for sale which is certainly a good sign ..out of an uncle mo(just passed away) mare as I mentioned in str's thread..how could I not recommend a play on her .. especially since i put a link of UM breaking his maiden first out as a 2yo (this one a 2yo fts).. seriously looks like a solid contender..maybe a little kharma here

the sold below amount is typically $50k but the $75k is also allowing another entrant #7(7-2) who sold for $60k to run without a tag..75 a 25 multiple so makes some sense to make it that anyway

These Maiden races that restrict the heavy heads from entering are really nice for this type of horse. It is a great spot for him.
                JBEX explained it well.
I would also assume the horse is well meant today.

                GL Madison.

I also like the 8 to contend. Has experience. Speed and decent post. Nyquist and Tapit.

Nothing for nothing but boy Tapit has a lot of sperm. LOL

nyquist..most expensive stallion by UM (who's the sire of KB)

tapit..dam sire of KB and also a prolific sire and broodmare sire

at 12 mtp she is 9-1..too high imo ..I'd do a super 178/3/1578 (9 combos)logic being she could still come 2nd but dead in the win pool

for the record I don't think this was a great strategy whether it won or lost and it did the latter..imo if a horse you like is not bet right I think ,in general, 2nd is too ambitious.. 3rd or 4th at double digit odds underneath in verticals ok ..6-1 here not enough of a price
