    Skinner: Kentucky Derby
This is my long shot in the Derby. If you like Practical Move then Skinner is worth a look. I think he ran a sneaky good race in the SA Derby. He made a wide move and was running at the end. I usually am not fond of the SA Derby as a productive prep but I think this year it will prove to be just that.

Skinner is by Curlin-Winding Way (Malibu Moon), Curlin needs no introduction here. The Dam does not look to be anything special but the odds will be great on what IMO is an improving horse.

You guys got one you are looking at? I think this race is wide open.

I almost always wait to look at the pp's pigpen vs following one along the way..of course this year is an exception with KB .. also have Hit Show and a half on Disarm (who you have also)..if I add to any of them it would be KB even though it's been a bit of a rocky relationship along the way lol..not capping anything beyond that

you're in a great spot with practical move..83-1 on a horse that's probably going to be single digit odds is certainly something to root for

Mornin' JBEX, I have a little more on PM than Disarm, it is just peanuts on both of my wagers. Asmussen is so positive on him that I believe he is live. I forgot about you having Hit Show, he could be a sneaky one as he started in the parking lot of the Wood. I truly think Forte is vulnerable. Look at the last furlong time in the Florida Derby. Mage was gassed and it was not so much Forte running at the end as Mage throwing out the anchor IMO. I think Tapit Twice will need to work a trip. If he has to be used in the body to get position what will he have left in the tank completing that final panel. I cannot make my mind up on KB. He could be anything. Going to be fun!!!!!

I agree pigpen that the logical horses are vulnerable
and like the reasons you pointed out with TT and Forte..KB will have to step up his game but like the intangibles with him including early speed ..like seeing it in front of me (pp's) before making any decisions..derby always entertaining and looking forward to it

how do you guys separate the top three finishers for the SA Derby? The Japanese horse is intriguing; they have been coming over live for the past couple of years...

I usually don't have opinions coming into the derby and until I see the pp's mrgnt.. Kingsbarns is an exception to that this year but other than him I will wait

Hey Mr G&T, if the Japanese horse would have made the field I would consider him live. I think he needs some help to make the field if I am not mistaken. I think the other deserve some respect. If Practical Move improves any he is a big threat and I believe Skinner is right there at a much better price.

I'm with J on this as I need to see pp's before I really dive into it. As I previously stated, I liked Practical Move after his first race and it's going to be hard for me not to place a decent size wager on him. Oaks day is one week from today, might take the day off lol!

Hmm, looks the Japanese will get to play too?? What a turn of events... With Practical Move out, really interested in Mandarin Hero and Skinner... Mandarin will probably sit mid pack and Skinner coming from behind... If the pace is lively, might just see these two at the finish line. Why isn't Victor Espinoza riding Skinner?? On paper, I can picture a sea of horses at the end, a photo finish ? Dead heat?? LOL

He was first to move. I honestly thought he was going right by Practical Move which i not a fan of and wish was still in as was a toss for me....m sure he gets a patient ride from Juan and if there is a pace melt down could run but i think hes not fast enough tbh plus not sure he moves forward.....the wise guy horse is mandarin hero out of the SA Derby....Tapit Trice if he moves forward the race is for second i think but ill spread a bit playing pic 4's and 5's tossing FORTE and Verifying and using some mid and price plays

                      Morning gang!!!

I like Skinner a bit tomorrow. I also like Mandarin Hero but the post will force my hand and i'll discard him. He will need to be very good to win from the parking lot IMO and I need to whittle down my selections. I'm with you Kona as I will be tossing both Forte and Verifying. I'll be checking in later today. First post in less than an hour!!!!!!! Good luck!!

                        Damn Pigpen, you are snakebit.

Skinner was just scratched with a fever.

With Practical Move and Skinner out; I think the logically win candidate will the Mandarin Hero since I really like those two. Also, the other one would be 5- Tapit Trice. Gonna place a win/place bet on 22- Mandarin Hero sitting at 19-1; and Exacta box 5,22. Round up the trifecta with 2,6,13,17

                              $20WP 22
