i like to make simple win/place wagers. gives you a little bit of a hedge in case you're horse gets nailed at the wire etc...

you can tail me if you want, but just dont scream at me if we lose

i'll tell you one thing - nothing more thrilling then watching a horse at nice odds win a head bob

Dex, I don't play the ponies but my father has been a track guy for over 50 years. Mainly greyhounds though, he's trained and owned them from time to time. But he has this system at Belmont that works. The problem is he doesn't really like betting on horses so he loses his money on the dogs.

FYI: about my style-

my winners were very chalky yesterday, and i actually took a slightly different approach today in my 3rd day. first 2 days i was more conservative with my picks, trying to make sure i got my feet wet (having not bet a whole card in months) w/o ripping up tickets every race. todays plays is how i normally bet...always looking hard to beat the morning line favorite which i did in almost every race. i look at a variety of factors from beyer figures, distance record, track record, workouts, trainer/jockey success on turf vs dirt and vice versa. also, post position is important to me, esp on inner turf races. im not much of a pace guy, but prob should be.

Dex I didn't put a place wager. I'm just running your winners through continuous daily doubles, pick3's and now a pick 4. I'm hoping you get a streak of 2 or 3 winners (4 would be HUGE) to make a little profit. Just $1 wagers so this next race I have $3 rolling on those three wagers. I

I'm also doing the same with joeyp's CD card. But he lists 1-4 usually and I'm boxing his top 2 for a $1 as well. Last race the box hit and paid back about $9 on the $1 so I'm at about even plus those pick 3 and such booked for both you guys starting on the next race.

i have a local bookie who i takes horses, and thats who i played with fri and sat. i have an otb phone account. so i went to the otb today to make a deposit. now i just phone in my bets.

all races were $20/20 except the 2 i noted in my first post which I went $40/40
