3 horse parlays

-- max 1 play/day.. could pass entirely
-- looking to hit 3 plays
-- ideal odds range 3-2 to 5-2

could play horses with higher ml odds if I think they'll be bet lower.. obviously once I pick not going to change higher or lower.. part of the handicapping process guessing at that.. not expecting this to be successful to be honest but be fun to try and chance to practice patience and spot play skills

3 horse parlay payoffs at various odds (obviously never all be the same but to give some idea)
rounded off.. shooting for lower odds

3-2 (14-1)
2-1 (26-1)
5-2 (41-1)
3-1 (63-1)

*no monday's or tuesday's (no secondary tracks except tampa)
*no off tracks
*think an equal win place makes some sense for the final bet.. if we come in 2nd money goes in the bank and start with base bet again.. at 2-1 average odds the consolation prize is about 6-1
which isn't half bad.. a win 3rd leg splitting WP worth about 20-1..so figure splitting and hitting the final leg knocks 30% off final payoff

Are you going in with a max amount of plays per day or just going to play all of the choices that fall into your criteria?

thanks buckandadime.. at even money it's about a 6-1 return including the WP bet 3rd leg.. consolation about 2-1..other extreme, higher end of 5-2 with WP final leg is about a 50-1 return with a consolation about 15-1..whatever happens nice to hit and then have something to look forward to the following day

no matter how long you do this you can always make an adjustment and learn something new..i think once you develop good skills (not saying that's me) including betting strategy and money mgmt a lot of it's a head game.. staying on an even keel good times and bad and realizing no matter how good a horseplayer you are there are weakness in everybody's game.. I think sometimes being accepting of that is better than constantly trying to improve.. that can drive you nuts doing that.. of course I'm talking more an intermediate to above average player to give it a rest and accept where you are.. early on you've got to study and put in the time

wound up 2nd by quite a bit..off at 9-5 so would have split the uprights of the odds range..wiped out at the beginning by the winner #6 and jockey claimed foul
but to no avail..really unbiased opinion 6 should have come down..not sure why I'm spending the time on this as he was not a play anyway..from now on only picks and no I was thinking of doing this one

just enjoy picking the way I do it..don't feel the need to compete..I usually only have a good opinion on about 2 SA races on average daily so rather not have to bother capping the others
