Hey guys. Welcome to the Place Betting Hot Picks forum.
In this thread we are going to find the hot picks, and do only place betting using a disciplined system. Finding the hot picks we need to successfully cash a day's series is rigorous work so I will need your help. Theoretically, this should be something we can do any day of the week thanks to access to electronic capabilities. Many races will get filtered out since hot picks are rarer than regular favorites, and certain weather conditions will prove to be unfavorable. If the rules and filters are followed exactly, this system should produce some favorable results...I hope. Again, with your assistance finding our plays; we can try this system out for a bit on paper, and see if it works out.
I wouldn't encourage doubling up on winnings just yet since this system is in the works. Actually, I would only suggest paper playing it until we find out if it works. If anyone has suggestions for the filters we will be all open ears!
Rules:
Only play hot and super hot favorites in favorable conditions.
Hot = a horse that has a significant gap between the next regular favorite [about $2.50 dividend difference -- the more the better] and has run in the past 2 weeks. If it hasn't the horse is not hot.
Super hot = same as hot + lot of news coverage and strong panel consensus for the horse.
Once you have your horse(s) apply the following filters:
1. Do not play this horse the field is greater than 9.
2. Do not play the horse if the barrier draw is over 3.
4. Check to see what the horse's last run was. If today's race for the hot or super hot horse is over +-300 meters than don't play it. (No change is distance is better).
5. In its last start the horse must have at least placed.
6. Make sure the jockey is a good one (ranked in the top ten).
7. In its last start the horse must have race similar track conditions.
8. Track conditions: should be classified as "soft" or easy or dry. If conditions are "heavy stay off the bet. Also, remember conditions can change throughout the day, is if a track gets wet abandon it.
All of these factors combined should hit an extremely high success rate for place bets on your horse.
