Don't play the P4, but was confused about how its written out when I saw it. How is it meant to be read? (This is the late P4 at Aqueduct today)

    $1 Pick 4 1 / 2,7,10 / 5 / 8 (4 of 4)

    #1 won the first leg.
    #7 won the 2nd leg (#2 & #10 were scratched)
    #5 won 3rd leg
    #8 won the 4th leg

    paid ~$395

    if u had 1/2/5/8 u won
    if u had 1/10/5/8 u won
    if u had 1/7/5/8 u won

even if u had the scratched horses u woulda won...

    hope this helps...?

To expand on what cecil said

If a horse on your ticket was scratched, most places substitute the scratch with the post time favorite for that race. Therefore, if the favorite wins that race you get the W for that leg.
