Show bet paying more then Place bet, does this often happen?

I know that parimutuel betting is you betting against your other bettors with each differen pool being divided up. This was the first time though that I saw the Place Bet lower then the Show bet. Does this happen alot??

Yeah....Sometimes whales take a nose dive on a 1-9 horse or very short price horse in the show pool creating bloated odds for all others when heavy fave doesn't finish in top 3.

Thanks, yeah looking at the final odds and the finishing order, that looks like what happened. First time I bet a show that benefited in such a way (still new) and was confused for a moment or thought it was a typo haha.
