Bankroll managment for exotic bet ?

Hello ,
I am new to horse racing ,and have been unable to find any article with some basic rules of thumb about bankroll management .
I understand that the rule can not be as clear as in other sport where you know the final odds.
I am currently betting 0.5% for all my bets (from straight to pick 3 ) ,which is I think is far from optimal.
So I would apreciate if you could share with me what percentage of your bankroll you are betting on straight bet, daily double ,pick 3 and exacta.

Best thing to probably do is come up with a plan and stick to it. May want to put down more $$$ on shorter priced horses than longshots. And on exactas always like to box. I have had some cases where I had a short price horse over a longshot only to see the reverse happen and I lost out as I did not box. And a good strategy is to put down x amount 1 way and if you want to lessor your risk put down half the amount on the longshot over the favorite. GL.
