You-gotta-be-kidding-moment of the year when Questing, included in most of my bets on the Ladies Classic, was slow out of the gate and pulled up after the first turn. She didn't even have an injury. Just didn't feel like racing. At this level... Bad taste in my mouth going into Saturday.

Had a rough day yesterday. Had Merit Man over Hightail but did not box the other way. Had Grassy to win, but he finished second. Thought Include me out would overtake Royal Delta but she flattened out. Hopefully a better day today.

It now turns out that Questing had been reported earlier in the week as not being well. So the question is: what was she doing in the race? What a way to cheat bettors out of their money. I think I just experienced my first true moment of disgust with horse racing.

I didn't see anything on Questing. And I am pretty sure I read 80% of the blogs and news out there.

Missed my chance in the Marathon. Had a note on the winner and passed on that wide open race. Like all the Euro's in the 9th today and hope Point of Entry is a no show.

This is from a poster at drf who kept a close eye on Questing in the days leading up to the race. No proof of anything - how would that be obtained anyway?-, but enough for him to take note and scale down his wagers.

Kudos to Royal Delta. But the story of the race, I think, is really about Questing. Bettors didn't get a run for their money, and it all smells somewhat like Life At Ten.
For weeks, I planned to make a large bet on Questing, but, -- fortunately -- I got wary when I read Mike Welsch's workout report which said she, "... didn't look comfortable on the track," and I scaled back my wagers considerably. But that workout report now suggests something wasn't right with Questing days ago.
If so, what was she doing in the race? Plus, other accounts have suggested Questing wasn't right in the warm-ups, either.
In any case, a ton of money went down the drain on a horse with no chance. And I'd like to hear about the facts of the matter.
I missed it, along with everybody else. Doesn't mean he's right, of course. The way the horse ran was so dramatically off. Someone else suggesting the horse got poked in the eye. At this point I guess we'll never know. The idea that the horse was fine, as the trainer mentioned after the race, is just sad. At least Dutrow had enough class to apologize to the betting public, in so many words, when he said he was embarrassed about Big Brown being pulled up. And he never knew what was wrong with the horse.

Migliore said before the race she looked like she had lost a lot of weight and didn't look right.
Someone who's opinion I trust said he saw her gallop a couple of days ago and said she looked awful.
