But even after all that, the majority of the people are in the red. So there cannot be a discussion on ROI cuz thats just dumb. If Wallco and the crew are up 8 units only in 2 years, well f**k, at least they're up. Wallco is putting his effort to HIS system like ALL bettors do to their own. #2320Just an observation from looking at the chart - the only big time losses occur near the end of each season, when most playoff teams have been determined.
Eliminated teams give up hope, call up AAA players, etc at this point, making it very tough for Vegas to properly handicap. My guess is that we are paying too much juice on the +1.5 lines and backing an underdog that really has nothing to play for.
I'm on my cell phone viewing this so I can't see the chart very well - but maybe we stop the system for the year when X number of teams have clinched/eliminated.
Just a thought.Comment -

Do not place any wagers on teams unless you are sure your team is the dog or favorite. The team underlined and highlighted blue is the team we are betting on. You may be overpaying for a loss if you play the P/L and should have been on the M/L, or lose a game that you would have won had you been on the (+1½) instead of the M/L. We will always play the M/L on favorites and (-110) games, and always play the (+1½) if the team we are betting on is a dog. ALL results will be based on this principle. If it is a close line game, you may want to wait til closer to game time to place your wager so you know whether or not we are on the (+1½) or the (M/L). All lines and standings are based on FINAL lines from ScoresandOdds.com/. If one of the teams we are playing switches from a favorite to a dog, or vice versa, after my initial post, make sure you get the appropriate line if it differs from what I have posted. I decided to backtest this concept by looking at the two worst teams from the past 7 seasons. I looked at their overall W/L record, W/L vs puckline (+1.5 goals), did they have 3 puckline losses in a row? and did they have 6 puckline losses in a row? (including the 3 games prior to the last 10 of the season) Here are the results: (I suspect the formatting will not look good on a mobile device.)
Year Team L 10 vs PL 3 PL Losses in a row? 6 PL losses in a row?
11/12 Edmonton 4-6 6-4 No No
11/12 Columbus 6-4 6-4 No No
10/11 Colorado 2-8 8-2 No No
10/11 Edmonton 2-8 4-6 No No
9/10 Toronto 4-6 7-3 No No
9/10 Edmonton 4-6 8-2 No No
8/9 TB 1-9 3-7 Yes (4 and 3) No
8/9 NYI 2-8 4-6 No No
7/8 LA 4-6 7-3 No No
7/8 TB 2-8 3-7 Yes (4 and 3) No
6/7 Phoenix 3-7 7-3 No No
6/7 Philly 2-8 5-5 No No
5/6 Pittsburgh 4-6 8-2 No No
5/6 St. Louis 1-9 5-5 No No
Total 41-99 81-59 (58%)
Here are my observations/take-aways:
1. In the past 7 seasons, the two worst teams would most likely have never cost you a V2 series loss in the last 10 games of the season because they never lost 6 games versus the puckline in a row. (I am assuming that they would have been the underdog in each of those games and therefore, you would have been betting the puckline)
2. If you need one of the two worst teams to cover the puckline in a V1 series, they have a 58% chance of doing so versus an average team. I'm not sure how they performed versus good teams or teams on a winning streak.Comment -

#2336Just found your thread...very interesting. I'm not surprised that your unit count is down a little this year. We have to remember there are a lot of factors that change during a 48 game season. Teams are playing 3-4 games everyweek and injuries are piling up. Also schedules have way less cross conference play. I'm just going to watch what your doing over the rest of the season and probably lay some plays next season but keep up the good work. What your doing looks great to me!Comment -

The wins and losses will be based on who is the dog team on ScoresandOdds.com/ final lines.
