I'm usually a little careful when backing a favorite against a good goaltender but this one I couldn't resist. Nashville with their injury problem up front looked pathetic last game with a awful 12 shots on goals against an average defense in Edmonton. Now they face a way better team that should be hungry after getting shut out last game while completely bombarding Lundqvist and Rangers. If Nashville has a chance to win Rinne will have to pull a Lundqvist.

The Lightning goaltending and defense is really struggling while the young kids for the Isles are playing very well and are really dynamic (I think they will be the most fun team to watch all season). the Isles are coming off 3 straight wins while the Lightning come off 5 straight losses. Just a big overlay on these 2 teams going opposite directions

The same thing as the other day. Can't see this line staying there. The Sharks are miles out the better team here and they have lost 3 in a row while completely dominating there opponents in shots. They could easily be 3-0 in those games. The Devils are weak on the backend, weak in goaltending as Hedberg will get the starts with Marty out for a while. And If you contain the big 2 they are pretty weak up front too. I will buy most of it back but I can't let this line go to waste. One more thing I like that the Devils have had a pretty long lay off and I think they will be a little rusty to start this game.

Mostly a gut feeling but I like that Dallas and Anaheim are off a few wins and aren't in panic mode. We also have two hot goaltenders and we have teams that have had a few nights off. I think they could take the 1st period off for this game and I'm making a smallish bet on it.

Carolina/Winnipeg OVER 5.5, 1* (Pinnacle)

Take it with a grain of salt as I'm not going to well and overs aren't usually my strongest bets but I like this one as what I consider 2 good over teams go head to head on this Saturday in which is usually a pretty good over day. Also Boucher is listed as probable as Ward went last night which is definitely a plus. The Winnipeg defense are all puck movers who all love to join in the rush (a little too much imo) and the Hurricanes also have their fair share of puck movers. Add in the pretty awful start for Pavelec (3.2 GAA, .881 SV%) and Boucher a probable starter who got rocked the first game he played this year and I don't consider him to be a quality goaltender.

just 2 prices that I don't see staying there and I think are way too high.

Toronto even without Reimer (Which is still probable for monday) shouldn't be +180 dogs against the Flyers who are facing their first bump in the road in this early season that started very well.

Montreal is struggling at the moment and I don't see many good signs there. Once you start losing you can definitely see it rub in all the players and they start feeling pressure. Add to the fact that they play in the hockey hot bed of Montreal and you know these rookies in which they put so much responsibilities are feeling it. Now they face a Florida team that can frustrate you and a very nice tag and I'm sold on the dog.

St Louis/Vancouver Over 5.5 goals +115, 1* (Pinnacle)

There's a few things I like about this bet that I think merits a play. First is that Vancouver is coming off a loss against Edmonton yesterday. They played very good in the third period and just couldn't solve The Bullin Wall. Now they face St Louis who will most likely start Elliot who is having a very good early season and is battling Halak for the number 1 spot. I have watched him play a lot last year in Ottawa and I really believe it's a matter of time before he goes back to his usual self and tonight he faces a hungry Canucks team and I think he will let at least 3. St Louis is also capable of scoring and I think the time off will do them good as they had a pretty bad schedule to start the year. You also have to believe they will want to start this Canadian west coast trip strongly I think they can also score 3 against any team. You take in consideration the nice +115 tag and I'm sold.

Winnipeg to win against Philadelphia

This is just basic capping for me. Philadelphia are playing back to back, 3rd in 4, 4th in 6, 5th in 8, and are in the hockey hot bed in Montreal tonight. They head back home afterward and is in a perfect spot for a let down. I look at a price of 197 and it's a gimme and I don't even care who they are playing. Of we now look at Winnipeg, they could very well have a way better record then what they have if they would have gotten some good goaltending. They have out shot most of their opponents all season long and their last home game is no exception in which they dominated the New York Rangers and a soft goal lost that game for them. Now they have a few games rest and should be ready for Philly.

Toronto over New York Rangers.

Another handicapping 101 here. It's simple, the rangers are coming off a very long road trip and are playing their first home game of the year after going to Europe to western Canada and everywhere in between. So it's a typical let down spot. They have been out shot in most of their games and their goaltenders have kept them in. I think Lundqvist will have to stand on his head to win tomorrow once again which he certainly is capable of but if you factor the sweet +140 price on top of that it's certainly worth it. Oh and Toronto have played very well in this early season and should not be taken lightly. I like what I see from this group and they have the talent to surprise anyone at any time
